They say it takes a village to raise a child, and since not all of us are lucky enough to have that village by our side 24/7, we at ROOKIE believe in the power of mom communities.
We know that every ROOKIE mum we've met is an incredible person, and we see this as the perfect opportunity to connect you all! That's why we've set up WhatsApp groups for cities across Germany, designed to provide a safe and prejudice-free space for you mothers to share your love, challenges, and stories about motherhood.
So far, we've had the pleasure of hosting four in-person Mommy Meet-Ups in Munich, Cologne, Hamburg, and Stuttgart. At these gatherings, we were able to sit down with wonderful new moms, have a coffee, and laugh and cry with them. The authenticity of motherhood was on full display, reminding us that we are never alone on this journey.
How the idea for the Mom Communities came about
Carla and Bianca, our two moms at ROOKIE, each have two young children. Bianca is even expecting her third. Until recently, they felt incredibly isolated on their parenting journey and received little support from their families. From sleepless nights to illness, identity crises as women, and the adjustment to motherhood, it was overwhelming. They believed they were the only ones struggling with these challenges. However, everything changed when they began sharing their daily thoughts, struggles, and burdens with each other. The daily support and feedback became a lifeline. That's why creating safe spaces and connections with other mothers is so important to us. These connections can blossom into lifelong friendships—whether it's with a mom who lives just around the corner or someone you simply feel a deep connection with.
Mommy Meet-Ups
At our Mommy Meet-Ups, we're happy to advise you on baby carriers, listen to your feedback on our products, and discuss the challenges of motherhood. From the difficulties of conception to breastfeeding problems: we've experienced or heard it all! Now we're excited to expand our reach and organize our meet-ups throughout Germany. Rookie dads are also very welcome! Who knows, maybe we should even plan a dads' meet-up in the near future?
