Putting on the Rookie Revolution is quick and easy. However, please watch our video and follow the instructions below.
A few quick tips beforehand:
1. Try out the carrier when your baby is comfortable. That means not hungry, has a fresh diaper, and is well-rested.
2. Gently rock your baby on your chest before adjusting the buckle/strap. This will help your baby gradually get used to the carrier.
3. Your baby might also be fussy because they're lying close to your breast and smelling your milk. You can give them a pacifier to soothe them at first.

Important for newborns
The belly band should always be used for newborns. If your baby is younger than four weeks or weighs less than 4 kg, you should also fold the belly band over twice, as shown in the video from minute 0:00.
The special features of the Rookie Revolution
The Rookie Revolution can be worn either on the front of your chest or on your back. For older babies or when carrying your baby on your back, you can also remove the waist belt completely. This makes it even quicker to put your baby on your chest.
Safety instructions
- Make sure your baby's head is always turned to the side, i.e., your baby's nose is not pressed against your chest.
- Always keep the Velcro fastener clean.
The shoulder straps are sticking out - what can I do?
- First, loosely place the shoulder straps over your shoulder (with plenty of webbing length).
- Then you reach over your shoulder, grab the buckle and close it.
- Then you pull on both straps of the shoulder straps simultaneously. You'll notice that the buckle slides slightly lower down your back.
- Then adjust the buckle if necessary (the length of the strap; larger or smaller). Experience shows that the buckle is usually set very large for men (i.e., a long distance between the buckle and the straps); for women, the distance is smaller, so the shoulder straps are closer together).
- You also have the option of adjusting the buckle's position on the back beforehand (higher or lower), or your partner can help you. For men, you should position the buckle lower, and for women, slightly higher.
General tips
- All baby carriers grow with your baby. This means that adjustments to the carrier will need to be made from time to time if it becomes uncomfortable. When fastening the waist belt, make sure that the carrier is centered (i.e., not shifted to the right or left) and sits above your belly button, on your ribs.
- The Velcro fastener of the hip belt should be completely closed.
- Adjust the bridge so that it reaches from the back of one knee to the back of the other of your baby's knees.
- Make sure that your baby's bottom "slides" slightly into the carrier so that the backs of the knees are slightly above the bottom (M-shape).
- Don't tighten the straps too much. The goal is a slightly rounded back for your baby. Your hand should still be able to comfortably reach between your baby's back and the carrier.
- You can adjust the headrest to different sizes by attaching the lower buttons to the upper "button connectors". Usually, it is sufficient to close two of the six buttons.
- When carrying your child on your back, make sure that your child's legs go through the loops of the shoulder strap when putting it on.
- Caution: If the hip belt is sticking out, it is not fastened correctly. Put the Rookie on as shown at the beginning of the video.
