Papa, Papi, Paps, Vater, Vati, Dad, Daddy, ...
One simple word encompassing many different roles. A boy's first hero and a daughter's first love. A role often underestimated, yet filled with so much responsibility and love. Today, and every day, we want to tell you, Dad: We see you and we appreciate you!
Here are a few words of encouragement for you:
- We know how difficult it is to adjust to your new role as a dad. We know there are times when you feel excluded and alone, and we want to remind you that it's okay and normal to feel that way. You are still very loved, and this moment is only temporary.
- We know you miss HER (your loved one) – but we promise you she'll be back soon! It's not easy juggling everything, but you're still important – even if you don't feel that way some days.
- Even if we complain about your socks scattered on the floor or the toilet seat being left up - we would miss them if they weren't there.
- YOU ARE ENOUGH. You are all we need! Your time means everything to us, and we truly mean it.
- We see all your hard work and the sacrifices you make to provide for your family, and we appreciate it. We notice when you're tired and need rest.
- We love it when you fully immerse yourself in the game, and we know that sometimes you even enjoy it more than the children.
- We know you need time for yourself too. And we want to remind you that it's okay to take time for yourself and treat yourself. We want you to be happy.
- We feel safer when you're around.
- Your 'dad jokes' are funny - but only sometimes. Thanks for always making us laugh.
- You are our world. WE LOVE YOU. Without you, we would be lost.
To all fathers, fathers-to-be, and fathers who would like to be: Thank you so much for everything you do! Your role is just as important to your family as the mother's. It's incredible how many wonderful fathers are out there giving their best every single day!
